Famous Vietnamese films screened throughout the month

Some of the famous films of Vietnam cinematography will be screened at the Hanoi Cinematheque, 22A Hai Ba Trung from now until August.
The programme entitled ‘Vietnam on Screen’ aims to introduce Hanoi cinema fans famous films of Vietnam such as ‘Bao Gio Cho Den Thang 10’ (When the Tenth Month Comes); ‘Canh bac’ (Gambling); ‘Thung Lung Hoang Vang’ (Deserted Valley); ‘Song Trong So Hai’ (Living in Fear); ‘Thuong Nho Dong Que’ (Nostalgia) etc.
At the same time, audiences also have a chance to see international films made by overseas Vietnamese or foreign directors and having scenes shot in Vietnam such as ‘Indochina’, produced by France in 1995; ‘A Dream about Hanoi’ by the US in 2002; ‘The Quiet American’ (the 1958 version by director Joseph L. Mankiewicz), ‘Silence of the Rice Fields” by France in 2004; “17th Parallel” by France in 1968; and “Mai’s American” by the US in 2002.
Some documentaries by Vietnamese and foreign film makers such as Lai Van Sinh, Le Hong Chuong, and Keith Halstead… will also be introduced to audiences.
All films are screened original language with English subtitles.
