Online singing contest for youngsters launched

May 29th, 2009

The first online singing contest in Vietnam for youth between the ages of 14-22, named K4Teen, will be held from May 29 to August 27.

The organisers, Zing Star and Coca Cola Vietnam, said that they are holding this contest because many young music lovers often upload songs they themselves sing onto online forums. Some of them have become professional singers or famous thanks to this online environment, for instance, singer Bao Thy.

As of May 29, contestants can upload their tracks to website k4teenkhongthusaobiet. The submissions will be checked by organisers and introduced to the online community for comments.

30 competitors will enter the final round, from August 7-28. In this round, each contestant will have to sing three songs in the pop, rock and rap-hip-hop-dance genres.

There are six prizes, including first, second and third prizes presented by the jury and three prizes for the three best singles in each music genre as voted for by online members.

The winners will have a chance to perform on stage with professional singers in a live show on the HCM City Television (HTV) channel 9.
