Pianist Bich Tra to play Beethoven in Hanoi

Talented pianist Bich Tra has returned to Vietnam. She will be present for two shows at the Hanoi Opera House on August 27-28.
Bich Tra will play some music works by German music genius Ludwig van Beethoven with the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Le Phi Phi.
Bich Tra is the daughter of movie star, People’s Artist Tra Giang. After leaving the Russia-based Tchaikovsky Institute of Music with a master’s degree in art, she continued her studies at the British Royal Music Academy. She graduated with the highest marks, earning the Walter MacFarren Award for best student. In 2000, Bich Tra won first prize in an international piano contest named Brant in the UK.
She has performed in many countries like Russia, Poland, Germany, Norway, Spain, Italy, the UK and the US and has been highly praised by foreign experts.
Bich Tra sometimes returns to Vietnam to work with the HCM City Ballet and Symphony Orchestra and the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra.
She recently took part in four research and recording projects with a UK-based company named Toccata Classics. Her CD entered the final round of the Grammy 2008 and won the Sterling Records Awards.
Another joint CD between Bich Tra and German Clarinet player Sabine Grofmeier, which was released in late 2007, was praised as being “perfect” by Germany’s famous music magazine Klassic Heute.
