The circus is in town

July 19th, 2009

For the first time in Vietnam, HCMC Circus will present ‘Jungle Festival’, an old fashioned circus complete with trained performance animals, to delight children of all ages and their parents. These shows will take place each evening from July 17 to 26 at September 23 Park with an extra show at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday only, Tuoi Tre reports.

Animal performances in the country have been scarce because of a lack of qualified animal trainers and handlers. But the animal shows that were presented were well received by adults and captured the attention of children.

Overcoming this difficulty, HCMC Circus has determined to celebrate “Jungle Festival”, a combination of human and animal performances delivered by the Long An province artist troupe.

This time, children will have a chance to enjoy professional horses, monkeys, bears, crocodiles and chimpanzees do amazing acrobatics and tricks. Highly anticipated are the dogs that learn and perform mathematics.

The circus will, of course, include many human acts, some of them funny, some of them serious and dangerous, to fill the tent with excitement and to offer a variety of feats to satisfy audiences.
