Of the 68 new patients, 57 live in the south, 2 in the north, six in the central region, and three in the Central Highlands. Hospitals are treating 478 patients, the remaining have left the hospital. However, there has been no fatality in Vietnam.

According to the Health Ministry, most Southeast Asian countries have reported deaths from the swine flu, include 65 in Thailand and 8 in the Philippines.

There are 153 countries and territories with A/H1N1-infected.

Three more students in Hanoi-based Lonomosov school have been diagnosed with A/H1N1. All of them have been hospitalised at the National Hospital for Tropical and Infectious Diseases. The first student at this school to become infected caught the flu while on a trip to Thailand; he has now left the hospital.

The school’s master Le Tien Dung said that they will postpone the new-school year ceremony from August 3 to August 10.

Lonomosov is a boarding high school, with 2400 students. This is the first school in Hanoi having A/H1N1 patients.
