Calisto’s contract to be signed this week

After several cancellations, Portuguese coach Henrique Manuel da Silva Calisto will sign a 3-year contract with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) on March 4. The federation’s Chair Nguyen Trong Hy confirmed the signing date on February 28.

VNExpress quoted Hy as stating: “The VFF and Coach Calisto have agreed with each others on clauses in the new contract. After its meeting on March 4, VFF and Coach Calisto will sign the new contract.”

Coach Calisto attended the match between Hoa Phat Hanoi – Thanh Hoa on February 28, but he refused to answer the media’s questions about his new contract. In his the press conference, he affirmed that he was satisfied with the VFF draft contract.

His current contract expires on March 31, with a pay rate of $12,000 per month, plus accommodations and traveling expenses. If he signs the new contract, Calisto will be paid up to $22,000 a month, plus expenses ($2500/month) and two round air tickets between Vietnam and Portugal a year.
